chapter one - the pentacle

As Lord Charon strode across the black and white checkered floor of the great hall of the Pentacle he reveled in the delight he felt at wearing the black vestments of the Dark Order of the Archon and the power he derived from them. He was one of only a handful of DOA’s allowed in this pre-meeting of the annual conference of the Archon Lords, which would take place at an undisclosed location in a few days.

His black gowns flowed as he glided to a stop at the appropriate spot in front of the Dias. “Master, the Rebels have multiplied to numbers beyond our control. And the Tribe is gaining tremendous influence over the masses with their outrageous ideas that they should all be free and that decentralized economies are more efficient and better serve the needs of local communities than our centralized grip on the worlds economy. The Rebels are even beginning to think they should have control of what food they eat and how to treat themselves when sick. Some are even touting the idea that they should have autonomy over their bodies!”

“We are also seeing cooperation among members of the Tribe and Rebel groups throughout the empire who are beginning to understand that they all share common ground. This is occurring among people of different races, nationalities and religious beliefs. They don’t seem to want to join any particular organization or group and seem content to understand that they all share a common foe - us! How do we go after the leaders when they are all so decentralized and dispersed?”

“Most frightening of all, they are beginning to turn to God for help. If they do that in large enough numbers, we may lose control.”

“Tell us what to do master. We are here to serve!”

Lord Erebos calmly reached over to an ornately engraved table next to his throne, picked up an exquisite Fabergé egg, twisted it open, took out some of the bright red flakes within, picked up a glass pipe shaped like a swastika and placed a pinch of the flakes in the bowls at the ends of three arms of the swastika. Then he reached for his solid gold lighter inlaid with a diamond pentacle, put his lips on the fourth arm of the swastika, held the flame next to one of the bowls and, inhaled deeply. He immediately repeated this process with the other two bowls. His already bloodshot eyes quickly turned beet red and the pupils in his hazel green eyes went from round to vertical, black slits. His overly wrinkled skin began to take on an even more leathery, reptilian texture. He sat silently for several minutes.

Lord Charon had watched Lord Erebos go through this transition process numerous times and knew that the substance enhanced deep and very sinister thought processes. He also knew that the red flakes were derived from a recent mutation of an extremely rare mushroom that had been found growing in the dung of a few Komodo Dragons that lived in an area of that Indonesian island that, ten years earlier, had been contaminated by illegal dumping of thousands of liters of unwanted mRNA vaccine test material. The seals had long ago broken and the contents had been leaking out into the Dragon’s ecosystem. Being an apex feeder preying on both live prey and carrion, the Komodo dragons in this area had accumulated an excessive amount of the mRNA material within their bodies. This caused a mushroom long associated with the Komodo dung to mutate into the strange, toxic, red cap mushroom that was now transforming Lord Erebos into a more evolved reptilian state.

Charon recalled the fate of the previous Archon elders who had passed initial tests showing they had the proper Blue Blood genealogy to embody their true reptilian being, but upon taking the red caps had been unable to come down from the reptilian state and soon become ravenous and died or were killed after attacking fellow Archons and savagely eating them alive. Some of those attacked would have survived had it not been for the poison injected into them from the saliva of their attacker.

So far, Erebos was the only person to survive the ordeal of smoking the red caps.

Charon waited for the tell-tale sigh.

Erebos’s eyelids were nearly closed now. His breathing very deep and slow. He exhaled in a rather loud sounding “ssssssshissst…” His forked tongue flicked out to snag a fly on his cheek. He began to speak in a low, growling rumble with a heavy German accent. “Sssharon (his forked tongue made it difficult for him to pronounce certain sounds), you are my finesst sstudent.” His face contorted into what 10 minutes earlier might have been a crooked smile.

Charon fought to suppress a proud smile.

Erebos continued. “Firsst of all, you are right, we musst not let them esscape our hold by finding ssuccor in God. Here is how we will prevent that.”

“We must plan for the long term. We have no friendss or enemiess, just interestss. And those interestss can be enhanssed by curtailing freedoms. So, let uss control energy so we can control nationss. Let uss control food so we control the people. Let uss control the media sso we control the narrative. Let us control medicine sso we control population levelss. Let uss control stechnology so we control the mindss of thosse we let live. Let uss control money sso we control the world.”

“We will usse the terms ‘missinformation’ and ‘dissinformation’ as bludgseons to curtail free sspeech, to sslow the sspread of information and to control what can be sseen and not sseen, sshared and not sshared, heard and not heard.”

“We can reap vasst profist by killing vast swaths of the masssess and we can use our new mRNA sTrojan horse vacsssiness to do that.” He paused and tried to smile. “I love to ssay vacssiness when I’m stoned on red caps.”

“We will usse our media assetess to convince the masssess that there is a new disseasse and we will usse fear of that disseasse to convinsse them that we have a new mRNA technology that can prevent and cure that disseasse. But… in reality, all of that will be nothing more than a ssaless pitch to introduce our new nanostechnology into the bodiess of thosse who ssurvive the stoxic insjecstionss as a meanss to stake away their ssoul and stranssform them into usseful isdiotss who will sdo our bisdding.”

“We can alsso create a lot of confussion around the usse of the phrassess relative rissk and abssolute rissk. Mosst sdon’t know the differensse and will believe uss when we usse the one that generatess the most favorable numberss for our purpossess.”

“And Sscharon, be sure to thank Lord Nyx on my behalf for funding much of the ressearsch for our mRNA vassciness and the stranshumanisst nano stechnologiess that wenst insto them.”

“Make ssure Lord Thanatoss is well invessted in morstuary sstock and insscinerastorss. Ssee to it that ist becomess mansdatory thast anyone sdying from sdisseasse generasted by our vassciness hass to be insscinerasted. Many that ssurvive will be very ssick and will evenstually sdie, but we will make a lot of profist by streating their vasscine created illness in Thanastos owned hosspitalss. Onsce there, we can kill many more by impossing mandatess that require the usse of deadly drugss and venstilatorss in which Thanastos is heavily invested.” He paused again, deep in thought. “Be sure that Thanastos shorts all of our investments in inssuransce companies. They will be losing a lot of money paying for some very big increassess in claimss.”

“We musst also move ahead with our scentralized banking digital currenscy program. We can massk the tyranny thiss program will allow us by making good use of the words freedom and conveniensce. Make ssure that Lord Moross undersstands that all of our campaigns to push for sCBDsC’s call it freedom money and that itss conveniensce iss always be emphasized. We have been very sucesssfull at making the masssess lazsy sso we can now take full advantage of that.”

Charon knew as the effects of the red caps began to wear off that Lord Erebos’s lisp would diminish. He could hear that beginning to happen.

“There iss another solution that is ass old as time. We will simply employ the ssame approach used by ancient empires when placing a fortress under siege. We will cut off ssupplies of food to weaken those pureblood rebels! Many of them have already moved to platforms over which we have little control and some are also buying secure computers and using secure email providers to avoid our scrutiny. We will need to increase our scyber attacks on some of these platforms sso we can slow them down.”

“Some of the rebels are already setting up alternative economies to bypass our revenue stream. This could be very problematic in the long run Charon. For now we still have many of the more cooperative among the surviving population that are generating more than sufficient revenue for us, but as you well know, thanks to our vaccines, those numbers are dropping rapidly. Of course this moves us closer to our overall goal of reducing earths population so we can turn it into a paradise for our kind, but until then we need to be cautiouss.”

“We have been successful at implanting the idea that carbon emissions are the primary cause of global warming and that steps need to be taken to reduce the carbon footprint of the masses. But some of the rebels are now questioning why all of us Archon Lords fly all over the world in our private jets to conduct Archon meetings to discusss how to force the massses into compliance by monitoring their carbon footprint with digital passports. Of course neither you or I or any of the other Archon Lords can do any of this work without our private jets, so, to preserve some semblance of trying to cooperate, provide your successful Minion Lord Deimos with more money to step up research on electric jets. I realize they will not be any better than our current ones, but we can convince the masses that they will not contribute carbon to the atmosphere.”

“In this same vein…” He briefly shuddered. “I get a fun chill when I say that word… some of the rebels have bought into our implanted lie that eating meat is bad for the planet. It’s time we execute our plan to rid ourselves of this sect of rebels. Order your highly successful Minion, Lord Nyx, to begin funding the creation of highly processed fake meats designed to slowly sicken, sterilize and kill those who consume them. Tell him to also begin buying up vast swathes of farm land and either take it out of production, or use it to grow genetically modified foods fertilized and sprayed with toxic chemicals that will not only slowly kill the soil, but those who consume the crops grown in them. Make sure he uses a lot of his toxic crops in the processing and production of his fake meats.”

“As for the remaining livestock animals, order Nyx to fund the creation of some mRNA livestock vaccines, that when injected into the animal will not only sterilize and kill many of those animals, it will bring about slow death to those who consume those dairy products and meat. Make sure that Nyx provides enough money to your State Minions to enact and enforce legislation requiring all farm animals be vaccinated with our mRNA technology.”

“Then we need to see to it that many of the food distribution warehouses we are invested in are burned down. And Charon… before doing so, see to it that our stocks in all of them are shorted. And make sure all those fires look like accidents!”

“Since we are already vertically integrated in the Military Industrial Complex, we can also begin some profitable wars in those countries most fraught with rebellion. In particular let’s target those Islamic countries in the Middle East and some of those that border that problematic nation known as the Great Bear. To eliminate their sizable food export market, let’s target Ukraine.”

“While we’re at it, we can use our mining and drilling investments to extract a lot minerals and oil from those war torn countries.”

Lord Erebos set his eyes sternly on Charon. “I’m going to count specifically on you, Lord Charon, to not only arrange to have your Minions set the Middle East and Ukraine aflame, but to then make sure that Lord Thanatos gets the contracts to rebuild to our specifications. ”

“I will not fail you Master!” Charon barked as he slapped his right fist over his chest. As he did so a massive explosion shook the Pentacle. For a brief moment Charon wondered if he had slapped himself to enthusiastically. Lord Erebos calmly pressed a button under the left arm of his throne and a holograph came to life in front of him on the Dias. It showed a platoon of Rebels advancing down the corridor towards the Pentacle, fighting with the heavily armed and very heavily vaccinated Guards of the Empire.

Some of the Guards fought like zombies, disrespectful of the obviously superior skills, tactics and defensive shields used by the Rebels. But what the guards lacked in skill they made up for in numbers.

This was the first time Erebos and Charon had seen the Guards perform in a real combat situation. They knew this was bound to occur at some point and they had prepared well for just this type of attack.

Erebos calmly said, “Take note of how fearless the Guards with the brown vests perform compared to the others. They are the ones augmented with Neurolink technology developed by your Minion Lord Deimos. The others are merely well paid mercenaries. The augmented ones are so stupid they work for room and board!”

Charon was more concerned. He noticed that none of the Rebels had fallen while many of the Guards had fallen, including many of the augmented. “Master, many of our men have fallen but not a single Rebel has gone down.”

“Ssssst. Do not concern yourself. They have not yet deployed some of our more advanced weapons.” A few seconds later a four legged robot about the size of a pony appeared at the back of the Guards bearing something that looked like a very sleek version of a scaled down satellite dish. It had some sort of lens in front of it that seemed to be a focusing apparatus. Charon recognized the devise as a 6G directed energy beam weapon but he had never seen a mobile unit like this mounted on a robot. The robot moved into position, ordered the guards in front of it to move to the side, pointed its array down the corridor toward the Rebels and focused its lens. All this time it was winding up to a high pitched scream. As soon as the Guards parted, it fired.
