Actually, no, the death rate for 2020 was a little BELOW the norm. It was during 2021 when it jumped radically. Depending on where you get your info, there has been some fuckery going on there, but I remember reading in SEVERAL places in early 2021 about the death rate for 2020 being pretty much the same as the past ten years, and just a little bit less than "usual." Who wrote that "Mortality Guide," anyway? You can't just TRUST "official" stuff these days, as I'm sure you'll know.
I don't know where you are getting your mortality data, but that is NOT what the official US mortality data shows--it shows an unprecedented increase in deaths and death rate in the US in 2020. It was a bit higher in 2021, but the increase over 2020 was not unusual, compared to historical values. So while I totally believe that you believe this, I simply do not, and I knew at the time, in like, spring or so of 2021, that there was some fuckery going on with that data. You don’t know me, but I remember these kinds of details. If you’re going to trust “official govt data” — well, good luck! ;) Think it over. We don’t to have to agree to have good conversations.
Mortality is a number, not an opinion, or a feeling. If you are going to spread bad info about mortality, at least make it clear to people you don't have any actual data to back it up.
